It’s not unusual for a local planning case to become a campaigning issue during the elections. So no surprise that the Herald reports the Dovesdale incinerator is the dominant local issue in the Clydesdale constituency. According to the Herald, the SNP councillors voted against the project, while Labour and the Tories supported it. That’s not stopped the Labour candidate claiming it’s all the SNP’s fault, as it’s the SNP Government policy on waste that made the project inevitable, and the SNP list MSP should have lobbied Ministers to have the project called in. It makes a change from blaming the planners.
